The Honorable Maxine Waters has proudly represented California in the United States Congress since 1991, serving the state's 43rd Congressional District after previously representing the 35th and 29th Districts. As one of the longest-serving and most influential members of Congress, she is recognized as the most senior of the 12 Black women currently serving in the U.S. House of Representatives. Congresswoman Waters is also a distinguished member and former Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, where she has been a steadfast advocate for economic opportunity, social justice, and policies that empower underserved communities. Her decades of courageous leadership and unwavering commitment to equity have made her one of America's most respected voices for change.
